On April 3, 2012, I series of tornados ripped through Dallas, TX, fifteen to be exact. One of those tornados hit the Diamond Creek community in Forney, TX. For those of you who don't know for the last two years I have had the privilege of producing the Sunday worship services at Lake Pointe Church's Forney campus that meets at North Forney High School and have come to love the folks in the Forney community. When I heard a tornado had hit so close to the school I immediately started trying to contact my friends to see if they were okay. One of my volunteers had some damage to his home but thankfully everyone was okay.
I had the opportunity to visit the Diamond Creek community this afternoon and what I saw broke my heart, but at the same time left me even more amazed that no one had been killed. The only explanation for that is God was looking over the people of Forney that day. There was one story in particular that illustrates that better than any ever could.
Please take the time to read about it here: Grandma Hailed As a Hero
